Beaches in Tagulandang. North Sulawesi, Indonesia

Tagulandang Island, and its neighbor Ruang Island, have a good offer of public beaches. Most of them have black sand (volcanic), but a few of them have white sand.

When swimming in the waters of Tagulandang, visitors should follow a few basic precautions:

  1. Use Sun Protection (UPF sun block)
  2. Women swimming should use a T-shirt. Sorry, no bikinis! This is a rather traditional island.
  3. Watch out where you step. There are plenty of poisonous fish  hidden in the sand and rocks. Careful with the sea urchins too.
  4. Check the currents (and the tides) before going for a swim.
