After your stay in Tagulandang, you can visit some of the neighboring unexplored islands.
30 minutes North of Tagulandang you have the Island of Siau. You can reach it by ferry from the main harbor of Bahoi. Every day a ferry connects these two islands. The Island of Siau is famous for its white sand beaches (Specially in the small Mahoro Island), for its snorkeling sites, for the Love Lake (In Makalehi Island), and for its active volcano (Karangetang). In Siau you have a Diving Center in case you like diving.
Further North you have the Island of Tahuna. A bigger island, famous for its vulcanos (especially unique its underwater one, the Mahangetang), its waterfalls, and its white sand beaches. It can be reached form Tagulandang by Ferry every day.
30 minutes South of Tagulandang there’s the Island of Biaro. Its main points of interest are its snorkeling/diving sites. It can be reached from Tagulandang every Saturday by ferry.
If you prefer to head back to Manado, there’s some interesting things to do around this city too.
Number one of the attractions around Manado is the Bunaken National Park, internationally known for its diving sites. The protected area includes three islands: Bunaken, Manado Tua and Siladen. There’s diving resorts in Bunaken and Siladen islands.
Close to Manado there’s the white sand beach Island of Lihaga, a great place to spend a day on the beach, with great snorkeling. In front of it, there’s Gangga Island, with a Diving Resort.
If you are into unique diving, you can also stay in Lembeh Island. Many Diving Resorts welcome guests to this beautiful island. The main attraction of the place is the weird creatures that live in its murky waters.
If you want to visit North Sulawesi inland attractions, we recommend you spend a couple of days in Tomohon. This city is around 30 minutes (one hour with traffic) from Manado. Tomohon is famous for its traditional market, where all sorts of animals are for sale as food (dogs, cats, snakes, bats… you name it!) Next to Tomohon you have Linow Lake (with its changing color waters), and Tondano Lake, known for its beautiful sights and the Rice Fields.
If you want to keep exploring new destinations in Indonesia, we recommend you take a plane and go to Raja Ampat, or the Maluku Islands.
